Shades Mountain Christian School

Welcome to Shades Mountain Christian School. We are a private Christian school dedicated to higher learning and higher callings. Our desire is to not only educate, but encourage our students to focus on their relationships with God. The elementary school consists of grades K4 through 6th. The curriculum is primarily A Beka with additional supplemental materials. In Kindergarten through 2nd grade there is a strong emphasis on phonics.

Seventh and eighth graders are in a time of transition from being children to becoming teenagers; our job is to help temper that transition with a Christian worldview. In addition to preparing them academically for high school, we help them learn how to think, how to make wise choices, and how to be more responsible for themselves and others. Students are encouraged to develop interpersonal relationships that will glorify God and each other. Middle school is a place where they can make mistakes and be surrounded by adults who love them by responding and not reacting.
