Montessori School of Huntsville

The educational program at the Montessori School of Huntsville is designed to develop each child’s potential, inspire academic excellence, nurture creativity and imagination, and awaken
the human spirit. The main tenets of Montessori education
focus on fostering a life-long love of learning while providing
a solid foundation of understanding through hands-on experience and discovery. Therefore students learn
by seeing, touching, feeling, smelling,
tasting, and doing. Children in our
Montessori classes learn at their own,
individual pace from their choice of activities among
many possibilities Besides the unique Montessori
curriculum and teaching methods, MSH seeks to
ensure educational quality through small class sizes,
low teacher/child ratios, and close communication
with parents. The curriculum is very rich and includes
cooking, gardening, music, math, reading, writing,
history, botany, zoology, geography, art, and
Spanish. On an age-appropriate level, children
are involved in helping to care for the school
environment – from caring for classroom plants
and animals to take daily lunch count and
collecting recyclable materials. The school takes
every possible advantage of the rich diversity of
enrolled families by inviting them to share their
cultures and customs with the children as they
study geography.
